Signed! 2022 Nissan LEAF SV - $85/month, $2,800 DAS

Just like with the popular 2022 Frontier pickup truck, Nissan Finance (NMAC) is running a strong lease program on their LEAF electric vehicle.

Through April 4, 2022, NMAC is offering a low money factor of .00022 (equivalent to 0.5% APR) on LEAF leases, along with stellar residual values as high as 91% for an 18-month, 10,000 mile per year lease, depending on the trim.

In theory, this could result in an extremely cheap lease. The cost of a lease is generally dictated by the depreciation cost. The higher the residual value, the cheaper the lease.

But the real challenge is finding a dealer who will actually sell one at the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) — without a bunch of profit-lining mark-ups, fees, and add-ons.

Due to a global semiconductor shortage, inventories are scant. Most Nissan dealers are in a position to charge an Additional Dealer Markup (ADM), above MSRP, to make up for the lost profit they would otherwise get with more inventory. On top of that, today’s high gas prices have further increased consumer demand for EVs and fuel-efficient vehicles.

That being said, check out this example of a successful 2022 Nissan LEAF lease signed by Leasehackr member @mackie1604, who was able to negotiate down the ADM. All in all, he paid $2,800 due at signing with $85 per month thereafter on an 18-month, 10,000 mile lease.

The deal was sweetened by a $2,100 lease incentive available in select markets, including California, New York, and @mackie1604’s state, Oklahoma.
