It’s no secret that new car deals are hard to come by this winter — the result of a global microchip shortage affecting new vehicle production.
So what does a Leasehackr do if they need a new car?
Check out this discussion on Leasehackr Forum, where you’ll find all sorts of suggestions and tips being discussed:
Find a short-term lease to take over (also in short supply);
Take public transit and wait it out (!);
Fix up an existing “beater” vehicle;
Buy out your existing lease;
Custom-order a vehicle at MSRP (rather than paying a mark-up on an inventory car), preferably on a car that will hold its value well (e.g., Tesla, Subaru, Kia Telluride), and buy/finance it; or
Custom-order a vehicle at a light discount (e.g., Jeep 4xE models) and lease it.
